Season records — league record, final position and leading scorer for
every season since the club was founded in 1902, including the three Norfolk & Suffolk
League seasons and the fifteen in the Southern League. Click any season in the
Seasons tab for a summary.
Individual results — every Football League match from 1920–21 onward,
every League Cup tie from 1960, and every FA Cup tie from the club's first ever
competitive match on 20 September 1902, qualifying rounds included, taken from the
Football Association's own results archive.
Honours and club records — every major trophy and placing, from the club's
own honours list.
Managers — all 56 first-team managers since 1905, with their full record and
the honours they won.
Career appearances and goals — 511 players, everyone with 25 or more
appearances, with position, nationality and years at the club. Line-ups for individual
matches are not recorded in any open source, so appearances cannot be broken down match by
match, and players with fewer than 25 appearances are not listed anywhere.
Internationals — the 105 players capped at full international level, the
country they represented and their caps and goals. Those totals are for their whole
international career, not only the years they spent at Norwich, which is not recorded
separately.
Transfers — 807 moves in and out across 26 seasons from 1985–86, with
the fee where Wikipedia states one. Most are logged as undisclosed: only 76 carry a figure,
and the club's biggest deals (Buendia, Maddison) are among those left blank at source.
Kit manufacturer and shirt sponsor — 18 seasons. These are not published
anywhere per club; they come from each league's own season article, which only started
listing them intermittently in the 1990s.
Goalscorers in individual matches — from 1985–86 onward, plus 77
earlier matches going back to 1950 recovered from the opponents' own season articles,
which record both sides' scorers where Norwich's own pages leave them blank.
Attendances and referees — 1985–86 onward, plus FA Cup attendances from
the 1900s. Shots, corners, fouls and cards — league matches from 1993–94.
Season appearances and goals — every player's appearances and goals,
season by season and split by competition, for 1996–97 onward. This is what fills
2001–02, the one modern season with no goalscorers on Wikipedia at all: the season's
scorers are known even though the individual matches they scored in are not.
Player profiles — click any player name, in the Players tab or in a match's
goal list, for their own page: career record, every goal the archive can attribute to them
with the match it came in, goals by season, transfers with fees, seasons as leading scorer
and their international record.
On this day — every competitive match Norwich have played on today's date,
back to the 1920s. If they have never played on it, the nearest matchday in the calendar
is shown instead.
Records from the archive — longest unbeaten, winning and winless runs,
record wins and defeats, best comebacks and the highest-scoring games, all worked out
from the match data rather than quoted. Attendance is the one exception: only 19 matches
before 1985 have a recorded crowd, so the club's published ground record is the reliable
one there.
Position chart — all 112 seasons plotted against the football pyramid, from
the Southern League to the Premier League, with title-winning seasons marked and the two
wars showing as breaks in the line.
Quiz — twenty multiple-choice questions built fresh from everything above
each time you play, spread across results, seasons, players, managers, honours, transfers
and kits. No two rounds are the same.
Season simulator — play your all-time XI through any real season since
1920. Opponent strength comes from that season's actual results, the era's scoring rate
and home advantage from all 208,000 English league matches since 1888, and each match is
drawn from a Poisson distribution, so the season is run a thousand times and reported as a
spread rather than a single answer. It shows its own calibration: the same engine, given
the real Norwich side of that season, alongside what they actually achieved.
Pick your greatest XI — pick an all-time squad in any of five formations, with three
named substitutes, and drag players between shirts or onto the bench to rearrange them.
Every player with 25 or more appearances is available; historic position codes (half-back,
inside-forward, outside-right) are grouped into modern lines so players from any era can
line up together.
Known gaps — no source records individual results from the club's Southern
League and amateur league fixtures (1902–1920), so that era survives here as season
records plus its complete FA Cup record. Wartime football (1915–1919 and 1939–1945) is excluded
entirely. Wikipedia lists no scorers at all for 2001–02, so that season's goals are
credited to players from the season records rather than to individual matches.
